Health Express was founded in 2012 by Doctors Chris Whelan and Michael Hughes with a simple mission: to provide convenient, high-quality urgent medical care delivered by experienced clinicians who are part of the local community. Over the years, the organization grew to serve multiple South Shore communities and became a trusted alternative to the emergency department for patients needing timely care. In 2018, Health Express was sold, expanding its footprint within a larger healthcare system. Since that time, however, we have recognized a growing void in urgent care services that prioritize personalized, high-quality clinical care. That realization has led us to return to our roots—bringing urgent care back to what it was intended to be.
Our focus is care delivered by trusted, high-quality, emergency-trained providers with deep experience in local emergency departments—clinicians you know and trust.
